- The 2027 Ascent has a few new features and a fresh paint option.
- Pricing starts at $42,290 after destination charges.
- The 2027 Ascent 3-row SUV goes on sale in summer 2026.
The Ascent is Subaru’s fourth best-selling model after the Crosstrek, Forester, and Outback, but it’s the brand’s only 3-row SUV model, making the vehicle an important part of its catalog. Subaru recently announced mild updates for the upcoming 2027 Ascent, and we now have pricing for the next model year.
There’s good news if you’re in the market for an Ascent: The base price stays the same, with higher trims and the mandatory destination fee seeing only minor increases compared with the 2026 model.
Five trims are available for 2027. These prices include the mandatory $1,495 destination fee
- Premium: $42,290
- Limited: $49,480
- Limited Bronze Edition: $50,590
- Touring: $52,660
- Onyx Edition Touring: $53,490
Subaru offers 7- and 8-passenger configurations for the Premium and Limited trims, while higher trims are available only with 7-passenger seating that has a pair of captain’s chairs in the second row. Premium color options add $395 to the bottom line. The 2027 Ascent is due to arrive on dealers’ lots later this summer.
Updates for the 2027 model year include a new Deepwater Blue Pearl paint color, revised interior lighting, and USB-C charging ports. The Ascent retains its turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and all-wheel drive (AWD) are standard, and the SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
All Ascent models come with an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and synthetic leather upholstery are also standard. Higher trims add genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.Â
Safety remains a priority for the 2027 Ascent, and while this upcoming model hasn’t yet been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), it should score similarly to the 2026 version, which earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation — the highest honor. All trims come with Subaru EyeSight driver assistance tech, which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts. The top three trims add a driver distraction mitigation system.
