Reports: Lincoln Corsair Compact SUV Could Live On

A year ago, we thought the Lincoln Corsair had reached its end. Ford announced that production of the Escape compact SUV and its luxury cousin the Lincoln Corsair would end to enable more EV production at its Kentucky plant. While the current generation of the Corsair will conclude in 2026, it may in fact live on for another generation.

According to multiple reports, including one from Car and Driver, the World Manufacturer Indentifier list submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) by Ford contained mention of the 2027 Corsair.

It’s speculated that the new Corsair will be assembled in China, as is the current Lincoln Nautilus. The VIN data also indicates that the Corsair will be offered in Premiere and Reserve trims and will come standard with all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-liter gas engine.

Some of our favorite features on the current Corsair include its plush cabin and available BlueCruise hands-free driving system. We’ll keep you posted about a potential successor to the current-gen Corsair if and when we hear more.
